Why you need a coach

Success is a choice,  so is the sofa...

Hi guys, just wanted to introduce you to my FREE THREE STEPS TO WEIGHT LOSS GUIDE and my monthly 'Optimise yourself news letter'. All you have to do I click the link above and sign up for the newsletter to receive a free three steps to weight loss guide.

I also have a 'LIFE PERFORMANCE' program. For more information follow the link and inquire and don't forget to follow me on facebook.

Why you need a coach

All people who I've ever met in my life that have been successful had, have and continue to have a coach.   No, not a man with a whistle screaming GIVE ME TEN MORE!  But someone who had either been there and done it, spent years studying and learning or simply someone who was ‘X’ amount of steps in front of them.

Coaching is vital for our progression, it's not a weakness.  To achieve alone is near impossible and when you attempt this you will always look back and think, if I had this person who was experienced I wouldn't have made so many mistakes.  Let's look at climbing Mount Everest.  That's a big goal, in fact it can kill you.  Now, pack all the gear, food and emergency kit. Get some oxygen tanks and a radio! Scrap the radio, you are going solo.

Of you go, see you later.  Oh wait sorry I forgot you don't know how to climb a mountain, you don't know what the kit is, you don't know the route, if you get lost you might need someone to come get you, you aren't first aid trained, and what good is it if you are but your unconscious.

All of these things must be taught so you will have had a coach; a parent, a sibling, a friend, a colleague or a trained professional to teach you at least the basics of mountaineering and survival.

So let's pick some more commonl goals that can seem like a mountain to climb  then we will look at the failing points such as ego and why we don't succeed.

  • Weightloss
  • Creating a successful business
  • Running a marathon

So each of these are very different goals however all three have something in common.  They require a lot of work, preparation, knowledge and motivation or determination or whatever you believe is needed but in coaching we call it your ‘WHY’.  Why you want to achieve this.

The why is simply the foundation, if your why is strong and clear enough then the rest will be much easier.  If it's a weak ‘WHY’ you'll put in weak efforts and it'll be harder to get out of bed and do the action steps necessary to achieve the goal.

For these goals it is necessary to learn something,  granted you can read up and watch videos and do free online courses.  But are you getting the individual support you need? No.
Imagine now having an experienced individuals or even a team who can help you will save you so much time and from so many mistakes.

This person will listen to you, you can run past your ideas, ask questions.   They will provide support, show encouragement, give you tools to progress, boost your confidence and inspire you, they will be there when you need them.  The benefits of a coach to you are 100x what you invest into it.  Coaching is simply that,  an investment to your progression.  Taken seriously, weight loss coaches can save years of your life and the money invested could not be better exchanged than literally giving you more time with your loved ones.  There is no limit on the price you'd pay to see your children graduate university or to play with your grandchildren.  Yet people won't pay a mere percentage of what we would say it's worth.

If you could invest a few thousand pounds to help you build a million turnover business that would provide you with financial freedom,  a family fund that would see even your great grandchildren to the best of education.  Would you invest for that?

To complete a marathon for charity or just for yourself is no easy feat, especially if you want to run the whole thing.   You’ll need knowledge in exercise, nutrition, recovery, technique.  Unless you've always been around health, fitness and long distance running however even then you'll have used or needed a coach at some point to help you.  You can find someone in a gym, online, at the local running club. But a coach will help you.  To ignore this help is being stubborn, trust me, i've seen people who let the ego or just ridiculous blind stubbornness go out there running and injure themselves.  I've experienced failures myself where I could have just had some support to get me through first time instead of five attempts.

If you find free help, use it, but remember nothing is free and usually if you invest just a little you'll get a massive return.  If it's free help it may be very basic and limited in its depth, I dare say it may even be very bad advice.  A coach is a trained professional, and it's their job, their living that they work in so you'll get expert advice and this is why you must invest your own time and money.

Yes, time and money is the investment.  If you do not put the time in you'll waste your money.  If you do not put your money in no one will give you the time.   I've been there I've done that.  Coached people without charging them, trying to be a good person  and unfortunately their time in was as much as their financial investment! Non-existent.

Ego will get in your way, it will pull success from under your feet and unlike a table cloth party trick all your stuff will crash and burn.  Your ego will sit on you like a weight and stop you from reaching the dream.  All you need to do is allow yourself to get help.  Invest in help and reach the goal faster, easier and more often.

There are no excuses.  Make the time, prioritise the finances and commit yourself fully.  You will never regret it.

Morning routines = Success

Routines: Consistent habits repeatedly completed on a timely basis.

Hi guys,
I would like to welcome you all to my new blog and Human Phenomena.  I’m letting you all into a little part of my day here with my morning routines before I help you all to build your own effective routines to help you become successful and achieve your goals.  I am also excited to announce that my new program is available for you all here.

Nice and simple lay out for my routines.  Every day I wake up as early as possible.  6:30 am is my usual unless I have an early client meeting or something really vital to get done.  When this happens I'm up at 4:30 am.
  • Water:  First thing I will do in the morning is give myself a glass of water.  I have been slowly becoming dehydrated over night so it’s the first thing I'll fix.
  • Get moving:  I have to get moving in the morning, really get my whole body system engaged.  So usually this starts with foam rolling, followed by either a run or some skipping.  It’s a great way to get a sluggish wake up feeling off you with oxygen intake, using some energy and feeling my body work.
  • Stretch:  Stretching keeps it at an optimal level of function.  So when I'm warm I like to stretch for as long as I can.  It feels amazing afterwards and is vital for strength improvement also.
  • Meditation:  This is something new for me, it’s a great way to connect with what I am grateful for, what I am aiming for in the day, motivating me with my WHY and clearing my mind ready for action.
  • Eat:  I’ll usually eat after all this as I like to get moving quickly.  If I’m really hungry I can eat some almonds before I get going but a very nutritious breakfast packed with everything I love to give me an amazing burst of energy for the day.  No coffee for me! I’m already wide awake by this point and the nutrition carries me all day.
  • Get going:  I will have already set my day’s todo list the night before.  So what I have to do is ready to go on paper and all I need to do is what my past self knew would be the best for my future!
So it's the weekend, but success is still out there waiting for you.  Your morning routine is what creates you. It is what starts your day, every day.  And the higher percentage of it will be very consistent. Even if you think you do not have a morning routine... YOU DO!  Hitting snooze, skipping breakfast, being late, and slouching at work are all a routine that creates you.  No one said the routine was a positive right now.
What are your goals? If it is to be the best sleeper inner ever.  You are probably excelling right now so well done, you are living success. Keep it up! :) If however, you want to lose weight, start a business or be fit, healthy and the best version of you? It's time to make a routine that creates that optimal outcome you desire.  I have attached a free download to use with this blog post! All instructions to follow.

We all feel 100% better when we start our day right, energetic and focused!  And if we do this every day, we have an amazing week.  Amazing weeks create amazing months, amazing months create amazing years and so on until you've lived an amazing, long and healthy life.

Create your morning routine to benefit you!  But how?  Well, first of all we need to know what exactly is it that we want.  So write that down on the back of your MY MORNING ROUTINES SHEET.
When we know what we want, and this may take some time to really work out,  the next step is to work out what is stopping us.

So if it is to be slim, lean and fit into a great dress/suit for example and the morning routine consists of eating an absurd amount of pancakes for breakfast.  Skipping lunch and scoffing donuts in the car because you really need something and then finally raiding the fridge late at night.  Then we have found what is stopping you.  Just an example!
Write down what it is that is stopping you so far under what it is you want to achieve.  If you are not sure on this, speak with someone who knows you.  Ask them what they think is stopping you. But make sure they are truthful and also make sure you do not get offended because this person is helping you become better.  Be grateful for that support and honesty.

The next step is to correct the behaviour, activity, routine, ritual, whatever you choose to name it, it is an act.  Now by changing this act, replacing it with something more beneficial, you will change the direction of the pattern and start to create a shift that can… yes only can not “will”and I’ll get to that in a moment, that can get you to you goal.

If a large ship wants to turn, it cannot change direction in a blink of an eye.  If it tried it may possibly capsize.  So it takes a long turn that takes time and effort from the whole system.  This is you changing your whole lifestyle.   Now, each little step or turn of the wheel will ultimately changes your direction to massive proportions but if only a couple of things change you will still go in the same direction but maybe with a slightly different destination.  To completely change and go the opposite way!!! We must be patient and continue the turning process.

In summary, those steps are:
1- Work out and be very clear with what we want.
2- Understand what has been stopping us or causing the opposite effect.
3- Correct them one by one as perfectly as we can to get to the prefered, optimal destination.

Routines = Consistency
Consistency = Success
SUCCESS = ROUTINES

3 steps to weight loss

3 steps to weight loss

For a full Free 3 steps to weight loss guide go to: https://humanphenomena.clickfunnels.com/threestepstoweightloss

Weight Loss is a massive subject.  It's everywhere, google it and you will see pills, books, personal trainers, gyms, diets, foods, surgery… everything you can imagine and yes I said pills first because there are unfortunately people out there selling pills that help people lose weight.  Please please please steer clear from these and read the following.  You don't have to pay me a penny for this advice! You lucky bunch.  You just need to follow it to lose weight.

The first thing stopping you from losing weight, and making people more likely to take the easy options of buying pills etc, is mindset!   You are looking for an easy way out of obesity when it just will not happen without focus and dedication.  It’s not easy or even that hard to lose weight.  It is just what you make it.  Either you make it a climbing battle or a simple stroll through a new lifestyle… your mindset creates the difficult level.  Please do not get me wrong, the workouts will be challenging if you really go all out on the fitness side and bust your guts with a PT! And all my clients work very hard.  But on a mentality level, weight loss is what you make it!

So my 3 steps are as follows...

Step 1: Commit

Decide and commit. If you want to lose weight you will. But you must consciously decide to do so.  It can't be “oh I'll try”, or “maybe I should….”.  We all have ‘shoulds’ right, but who ever gets a ‘should’ done… nobody!  But a must… do you have kids or a job?  Should you go to work or pick up your child? No, you must do those things and you do them daily, even if you don't want to. You must, so you do…..

Committing, whether to a program, a gym membership or just to yourself, means to follow everything, continue through the hard times and never stop working at the goal and learning.

Deciding to lose weight is as easy as deciding to eat the rubbish that  makes you fat.  But people let their mind tell them otherwise.   Please read my previous blog to really grasp the power of deciding.

Step 2: Move

Just get moving, your body is designed to move… stretch your hands out wide and look at the left one.  Then the right one.  You have just moved your body. Congratulations! I'm not being sarcastic.  I'm simply proving to you how your body moves, right!  What causes that to happen?  Well energy of course.  You drive a car right? We put fuel in and it moves when we use the pedals.  Same with the body.  Simple stuff, but made a hell of a lot more complex with a human body!

So when we move, we feel better! It is fact, and you know that.  When you have been out and about moving around, you generally feel better, or do it to feel better. As a result the moment creates a lighter, stress free mood.

So, I challenge you for two weeks to go for a five minute walk every morning and tell me how much better you feel.   You can even smile on these walks! Oh wow yes!  And increase your good feelings to optimal levels.  If you have more than five minutes then go for it.  Make it ten, thirty or even sixty minutes.

If you have less than five, please stop lying to yourself and get up earlier, make the time in your so called “busy lifestyle.” Take the kids too or tell your partner to watch them for five minutes, park the car five minutes walk away from work! Anything, but don’t lie to yourself and say you don't have the time for yourself.  Something is seriously wrong if you cannot take five minutes out.

Step 3: Become nutritionally aware

There is a lot of information out there on nutrition, so we need to become aware of what food you are eating.  Is it a lot of food?  Is it poor quality? High in sugar and processed?  If you do not understand these words and concepts, that is fine. You can talk to a fitness coach at a gym, work with a professional or read a book.  Not a diet book or a lose weight fast book, but an actual nutrition book to learn what these things are.  You could even take a course and become certified in nutrition whilst you lose weight!  They cost as much as all the money you spend on the fitness gadgets and weight loss diet fad groups that never seem to work.  And you can do them in your own time and online. But of course, if you feel you just want to be given the information then ask a professional.

Does this sound like hard work? If yes and you just want the information given to you, I recommend a coach.  Even for the more independent and determined among you, this is the most accelerated way to achieve your goals.

Summary

So my point here is that if you decide to lose weight you will find the means to do so.  If you start to move you will feel better, use the energy and reset your body to what it was made to do.  And finally if you become nutritionally aware and knowledgeable, you can make the correct decisions on what to eat to balance your energy and burn that unwanted fat!

We can make a real technical mess of weight loss, when it is actually very simple for the majority.

Written by the Founder of Human Phenomena

One of my favourite quotes comes from Will Smith, “Just decide”.  He expresses that you have a choice, that it is all on you.
During my first year at university I developed a need for self improvement.  Making myself better, to achieve my goals and dreams.  Setting timeout to develop yourself is just another key element to you achieving your goals and dreams. Now it's almost two years since I finished my dissertation and final year of university and I am deep into my next projects.  There’s no turning back.

We have a lot going on at Human Phenomena.  There have been many choices to make recently and the majority have been financial and time distribution orientated.  These choices have been critical to both the business and the team’s development.  Without having the courage to make these choices, we would not be in the position we are in today - able to help others unlock the power to take control. I personally have had financial trouble in the past.  Not being in uncontrollable debt but being deep enough in debt and close to having real issues with debts.  I have had to lose out on things, experiences and all due to uncertainty rather than stupidity or ignorance. The fear of being in debt and not making it through a challenge can paralyse us.  You can see the end when you start yet poor planning or unforeseen circumstances will drag you down quicker than you can react to them.

I found that when this has happened in the past, my mindset was immediately focused on getting out of there, cutting my losses, avoiding further risk and walking away with a burn and a lesson that stops me from daring to achieve again.  This sometimes may be the right decision, yet I like to think that just deciding means that the decision you make is the right one. No matter what.  That halfway through when you cut your losses and run away with just a little bruise you do not complete the lesson or the mission. You only fail and become scared to try again.

When backed into a corner your mind is so powerful that it will find the way out.  You will file through every possibility and try every single thing until escape works, yet most people give up after one or two attempts.  I am not an exception.  I have however taken my time to learn and develop this side of my abilities and work on breaking through.  It can be scary yet this is when you know you are expanding your comfort zone.  Letting life beat you down means the zone gets smaller and smaller until it eventually suffocates you. But when you are winning at life - your comfort zone expands to immeasurable distances allowing you to grow and thrive.

I would like you to join me today in deciding, who you're going to be, what you're going to do and when you're going to do it.. Just decide…   It's none of your business how it will happen, but it is your business to decide on it.  Expand your comfort zone and get a little scared. Are you looking to lose weight,  Just decide to lose weight. Are you looking to build a business? Just decide to build a business!  Are you wanting the perfect job or to run a marathon or to have a baby?  Just decide.

At this critical point, the barriers will get out of your way.  The universe will move for you.

I want to close this post up now by simply saying this:
It will not be easy, it will not be given to you.  But if you believe in yourself...it is possible.

Damian.
